Frequently Asked Questions

Are all weddings two days?

Yes, we only offer a multi-day service with a minimum of two nights for a full venue rental, including all the cabins. We don’t rent the site for just one day or simply for the ceremony.

What dates are available to book?

Our season runs from May to mid-October, and standard rentals are Tuesday/Wednesday or Friday/Saturday.

Is there any indoor ceremony space available? What if it rains?

We are a 100% outdoor wedding venue and since we are located in a temperate rainforest, we do require a tent rental through Blacksheep Event Rentals.

What kind of accommodations can our guests expect?

Our 12 cozy cabins can accommodate a maximum of 52 people and since our wedding couples rent the full venue, we do allow camping on-site for wedding guests. Many couples have chosen to book glamping tents from Wild Havens or allow guests to bring their own tents. There are additional bathroom and shower facilities available to them. Please note, towels are not included for campers. Our newest addition, Cheekye Lodge, sleeps an additional 16 people and is also available upon request. Please enquire with our Weddings and Events Team at the time of your site visit.

RV’s, camper vans, and trailers are not permitted.

I’m planning my own wedding, so can I ask a friend or family member to be the Day Of Coordinator?

No, we require our wedding couples to hire a professional Day Of Coordinator. This way you and all of your guests get to enjoy the day to the fullest, while leaving all the details to someone used to handling them.

I have a connection with a winery/brewery/distillery, can we supply our own liquor?

On your wedding day, all catering must be exclusively provided by Fergie’s including all liquor. We are a fully licensed facility, so no corkage or BYO is allowed.

You are welcome to self-cater food and drink outside of the wedding hours (noon to midnight on your wedding day); however, no outside caterers or food trucks are allowed.

What does Fergie’s Catering entail?

We provide all buffet and bar equipment on the wedding day. The marquee tent and all other rentals must be rented through our exclusive partnership with Blacksheep Event Rentals.

We also provide all of the event staff. They are quoted according to your selection, timeline, style of service, and number of guests.

Once catering staff are off duty, it becomes the client’s responsibility to manage wildlife attractants including garbage and any leftover food.

I’d love to use candles for decoration, is that allowed?

Yes, but they must be enclosed, no open flames are allowed. This is also subject to any fire bans that may be in place regionally or provincially.

Can we have a campfire?

We have a firepit in the back of the property with arena style seating that you’re welcome to use. Firepit use is subject to availability based on regional or provincial fire bans.

What is the drone photography/videography policy?

We are within 5.6km of an airport so as per Transport Canada requirements, drone photography and videography is not allowed on the property.

Can we drink the water?

Absolutely!. Our water is filtered, fresh, and delicious. We are fully committed to making our operations as sustainable as possible. To that end, we do not allow single-use plastics on site, including water bottles.

What’s the stance on confetti?

There are two reasons why we don’t allow confetti. One: Although very pretty, confetti ultimately ends up in the garbage, and we are trying to keep our operations as sustainable as possible. Two: Although there are natural confetti options out there, we’re unable to properly clean it up from our grounds, rendering it litter or worse, an attractant for wildlife.
